Celebrating Utah!

For the 24th of July, Joe and I went down to Salt Lake City to party with the family. Monday night, we went and saw The Dark Knight Rises. I must admit, it was a little intense but I enjoyed it. Tuesday, my brother and his family came over and made breakfast. We then went to Red Butte Gardens. They were having a free day on the 24th so we were all over that! It was excellent! The first little bit drizzled on and off and then it full on rained for a little bit. But the sun came out and then we were wishing it was raining again because it was so hot! Despite the changing weather, we loved the whole thing! My sister-in-law, Heidi, is pretty pregnant and the gardens are on a hill so we were a little worried. However, right when we got there, we saw that there was a large golf cart just leaving from the building. We couldn't all fit on there but Heidi, my Mom and the kids were able to get on there. The best part was that we could follow the same path because the golf cart went very slow and also stopped quite frequently. All in all, it worked out for all of us quite well!

We went around most of the gardens and saw lots of beautiful flowers and pond areas.

We also saw some wildlife. Some lovely, some not so much.
Here's a hummingbird that I somehow caught on camera if you look closely.

Took some cute pictures of everyone having fun.

We stopped off at the children's area. We had brought swimsuits for the kids so they put those on and got going in the fountains that were there. Kimball also decided to get in there and help the kids be a little more brave. This is when it started raining so it was actually perfect timing.

Once it stopped raining, we got the kids dressed and played on other joyful things of the children's area.

We then walked around some more gardens and then headed back to the building. We spent the rest of the afternoon sitting out in front of my parent's house while the kids rode their bikes up and down the driveway.

We then made the trek to Bountiful to do a few at-home fireworks with some of Heidi's family.

We had an excellent 24th of July and we couldn't be more glad that my
brother and his family are back in Utah so we can do things like this!
