This year, we celebrated Halloween to the max! We have never been big Halloween people. Don't get me wrong, we like it just as much as the next person but we are not the go all-out and get dressed up kind of people. Also, last year I worked on Halloween and the weekend before so this year I wanted to make the most of it. Well, some friends invited us to a Halloween party and it was so fun! They had planned games and everyone brought a fun Halloween treat to enjoy. Joe and I decided to dress up as Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash. This was his brilliant idea!
We also got some nice free pumpkins from Joe's sister which they grew in their garden. So we got to carve pumpkins as well. We didn't have much time to carve them so we both did simple designs but I think they turned out so fun!

We also went to an event called Sleepy Hollow. It's part of a "Stories in Concert" series. They held it at the Cache County Fairgrounds. There were games and crafts from the colonial time period, a hayride, and then a performance of the story of Ichabad Crane and the Headless Horseman. It was so fun! It was all outside so sitting through the performance we got a little cold but we snuggled up in our blankets and it was totally worth it. Before the performance, we got to enjoy the games, the crafts and the hayride. The performance consisted of one man narrating and a cast of about 15 other people who acted out the narration and also sang the songs. There was also one man who did all the sound effects for the entire performance. He had a corner full of stuff that he used. It was excellent! The story was scary but not too scary. My kind of Halloween experience! I would highly recommend the Stories in Concert events to anyone of all ages!
